Colorado SIPA as the portal in a limited series

3rd edition

Catch Up: Chapter 1 | Chapter 2

Ch. 3: Uniquely, Colorado SIPA

Thank you for joining us for the past 3 months in learning more about SIPA and its capacity as the officially recognized portal for the state of Colorado. Colorado SIPA is truly unique in nature and here is a round-up of 5 reasons why:

  1. Colorado statute charges SIPA with working for all governments across the state, giving every government entity the same opportunity to conduct services securely online for their residents.
  2. As an authority, SIPA is self-funded (we receive no general fund dollars to pay for operations). In addition to efficient no and low-cost services, SIPA offers a robust grant program and premier technology conference.
  3. SIPA is accountable! It receives direction from, and reports to, a 15-member board as well as annual presentations to the Joint Technology Committee.
  4. Because of our powerful statute, Colorado SIPA can provide ALL of our portal services without an RFP. You could save some time (and money) if you look to SIPA first when planing to implement a new website, custom online form, event application, or payment processing.
  5. SIPA is a government partner, not vendor, created to connect residents to government through technology.

SIPA prides itself on being all-inclusive to governments across the state, in being your public sector partner, and in providing excellent customer care helping you to put more information and services online. The Statewide Internet Portal means consistency, accessibility, and automation for residents - have you caught on to the great services that the Portal Authority (SIPA) provides yet?

  • In our upcoming newsletters, SIPA will assist DOLA in helping to get information out about the 2020 Census. Each month, new information and content is provided by DOLA Deputy Executive Director, Natriece Bryant, in a segment titled: A Message from DOLA.

The Department of Local Affairs' State Demography Office has developed the Colorado 2020 Census Support Program to support local governments in the promotion of Census 2020. This $220,000 program provides outreach and marketing support to help local governments and communities promote Census 2020 by directly providing promotional support or services (banners, flyers, cups, pens, and other Census 2020 promotional materials). Local entities will be limited to requests up to $2,500. The goal of the program is to produce community specific materials, so be creative and create messages and materials that will resonate with your neighbors!

Request forms are required and applicants can be reimbursed for purchases, or the program can pay vendors directly.

Please visit https://demography.dola.colorado.gov/census-acs/2020-CCSP/ for program guidelines or contact Adam Bickford (adam.bickford@state.co.us) or Justine May (justine.may@state.co.us) for assistance.
